Nat Tuner was born into slavery on October 2, 1800 on a Southampton County plantation in Virginia. Nat Turner was a religious man who became a preacher and claimed to be led by God to take a stance to end slavery no matter the cost. Although Nat Turner was a Christian he believed that God would except him to kill men in order to lead slaves from bondage. It was on August 21, 1832 when Turner took a physical stance and led a violent riot to rebel against slavery. Turner stayed in hiding for about six weeks before he was found and hung for his actions.
